Move to couch on older model truebeam

Has anyone successfully used the move to couch feature on an older truebeam. Our is serial number 1450 and I am told that the 6 DOF license didn't exists at that time. AlignRT and Varian believe this may be our issue but I am doubtful as the move to couch feature works about 15% of the time. I would expect a missing license would prevent function 10)% of the time.
